mariPOC®

mariPOC® is a great alternative for antigen detection both in the central lab and the point of care for the diagnosis of acute illness.

Its proprietary technology, simplifies operation while keeping errors to a minimum due to its closed system design

Description

mariPOC® is a turn-key solution for prompt testing in the lab or in decentralized conditions. It combines specific antigen detection with an automated walk-away instrumentation. Accuracy of mariPOC® is superior to lateral flow rapid tests, and similar to conventional laboratory tests such as ELISA or PCR.

mariPOC® is a time saving and cost-efficient solution for first line diagnostics of acute respiratory tract infections (RTI) and gastroenteritis. mariPOC® is continuous feed and it allows great capasity of >44 RTI samples or stool samples per work shift with minimal hands-on time

Test Menu

mariPOC® respi test – Nasopharyngeal sample

  • Designed for testing upper respiratory tract infections as well as lower respiratory tract infections. The test system allows rapid detection and differentiation between viral and bacterial infections.
    • Influenza A virus
    • Influenza B virus
    • Respiratory syncytial virus
    • Human Coronavirus OC43
    • Human metapneumovirus
    • Human bocavirus
    • Parainfluenza virus type 1
    • Parainfluenza virus type 2
    • Parainfluenza virus type 3
    • Adenovirus
    • Streptococcus pneumoniae

Preliminary results in 20 min,

Final results in 120 min, reports low positive and negative results

mariPOC®  Pharyn test – Pharyngeal sample

  • Adenovirus
  • Group A streptococci

The Pharyn test reports result for group A streptococcus and adenovirus from the same sample in two steps:

Preliminary results in 15 min, with equal sensitivity to standard GAS culture

Final results in 55 min, reports low positive and negative results

mariPOC® CDI test – Stool sample

Clostridium difficile

Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) is the leading cause of health-care associated diarrhoea. Some of the C. difficile strains produce toxins A and/or B. Only toxin producing C. difficile strains can cause clinical disease.

New mariPOC® CDI test reports GDH and the toxins A and B simultaneously. It allows you to follow the ESCMID guideline for C. difficile diagnostics. The test offers accuracy previously unseen in EIA tests.

mariPOC® gastro test – Stool sample

mariPOC® gastro test is a multianalyte test for acute gastroenteritis. The test allows rapid detection and differentiation between most common viral and bacterial infections.

  • Norovirus GII.4
  • Norovirus GI
  • Rotavirus
  • Adenovirus
  • Campylobacter spp.

Preliminary result: 20 min (strong positive results)
Final result: 2 h (weak positive and negative results)

mariPOC® Gastro and CDI

You can choose to run the multianalytic mariPOC® gastro test and the CDI test from the same sample.

Preliminary result: 20 min (strong positive results)
Final result: 2 h (weak positive and negative results)

COVID-19

COVID-19 solutions

To tackle COVID-19 pandemic, mariPOC® team has used its deep knowledge and long-time experience of rapid antigen test development to provide a world-class COVID-19 test.

Our coronavirus test is the most accurate test currently available. It is based on the recognition of the SARS-CoV-2 viral proteins (nucleoprotein), and results are obtained within 20 minutes.

mariPOC® COVID-19 test is performed in the bench-top automated mariPOC® test system, enabling analysis at the point of sampling. Thanks to its unique features, mariPOC® SARS-CoV-2 test provides the best accuracy in results, while offering a very handy and quick procedure, for both patients and users.

How to get quickly tested by mariPOC® COVID-19 test

Key features

mariPOC COVID-19 Key Features

Easy work flow

mariPOC work flow
  • 20 minutes: > 90% of positive samples are reported, allowing making quarantine and clinical decisions without delay.
  • 55 minutes: Low positive and negative results are reported

Typically the sampling is done by taking a flocked swab sample from the nasopharynx. Sample pretreatment, prior to automated analysis, is done safely in a closed primary container and is easy to do with short hands-on-time.

What are the differences between the SARS-CoV-2 tests available on the market?

The three main types of tests for SARS-CoV-2 detection currently available on the market are PCR-gene tests, antibody tests and antigen tests. Their technical difference lies in which molecule they detect:

  • Antibody tests detect the response of the patient’s immune system
  • PCR-gene tests detect the genetic material of the virus
  • Antigen tests detect the proteins of the virus

With different targets, the tests have different clinical uses:

  • Antibody tests are designed to determine whether a patient has been infected by SARS-CoV-2 in the past.
  • With its extreme sensitivity, PCR-gene tests are designed so that negative results rule out infections with high probability. However, residues of viral genes can be found from the patients long after the infection has been cleared. Indeed, false positive results with this method are common when used to assess infectiousness.
  • Antigen tests are the only rapid test type designed to detect infectious individuals. Thus, they are perfectly adapted for the screening of the community and diagnostics of acute infections.

mariPOC® COVID-19 test perfectly meets the requirements of an ideal disease and screening test. It is easy-to-use, requires short hands-on time, provides quick results and can be performed at the point of sampling.
